How to use u:rise

Make use of our competencies development platform and start your professional and career development on u:rise today.

Getting started

Log in to u:rise

You can access u:rise via your u:account of the University of Vienna. If you are not a member of the University of Vienna, you can book selected events on u:rise with a guest account.

Look for suitable offers

Find suitable events on the offers page by searching for individual words using the free text search field. Or use the numerous filter options (e.g. "Interesting for", "Provided by" or "Competencies") to narrow down the search according to your needs.

Log in and manage your bookings

Click the title of an event under "Offer" to read the detailed description. There you can register for the respective event. Simply manage your bookings under "My bookings".

Take part in events

Probably the most important step: take part in our on-site, online or hybrid events or learn at your own pace with our on-demand offers. We are looking forward to your participation!

About the project

The objective

Establishing a common platform for all professional and career development offers at the University of Vienna. The u:rise interface is clear, intuitive and user-friendly and is available as both a desktop and a mobile version. The project is a cross-organisational initiative and supports the common goal of providing future-oriented and high-quality offers for professional competencies development.

The timeline

The project launch was commissioned by the Rectorate on 28 November 2023. The first major milestone was reached with the go-live of the platform on 14 January 2025. u:rise and its functionalities are being continuously developed.

The people involved

A dedicated team of experts from the following service units works together under the leadership of the Talent Acquisiton and Development division: Vienna University Library and Archive Services, Research Services and Career Development, Teaching Affairs and Student Services and Vienna University Computer Center. The team is supported by the external partners Wunderbyte GmbH and YOU-X e.U.
