Dr. Katherine Tiede has spent more than three decades working with engineers and scientists from a range of fields on how to communicate their research. In her work, she draws on her background in linguistics to provide scientists with tools to be able to read their own writing like a reader as well as tools to draft, write, and revise efficiently and effectively. She completed her Ph.D. at the University of Toronto and after a decade teaching in the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering, began to give annual seminars at Austrian universities such as the University of Vienna, Vienna University of Technology, Graz University of Technology, the Medical University of Graz, the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, University of Klagenfurt, and the Medical University of Innsbruck.
