Content

This ViDSS Brownbag Session aims to provide practical tips and tricks for planning a research stay or fieldwork abroad and for submitting a successful funding application.

The session will address, among others, the following questions: Which international mobility opportunities are available to candidates in the Doctoral Programme in Social Sciences? How can I find and approach a suitable host institution? What should I consider when applying for financial support for a research stay abroad or for a leave of absence from the University of Vienna?

Doctoral candidates who have already conducted research stays abroad will share insights from their experiences. Experts from the University of Vienna’s International Office will introduce different funding opportunities for doctoral candidates. Roman Pfefferle and Eva Kössner from the ViDSS administration team will provide additional advice.

With:

  • Franz Stefan Michalke, Head of International Cooperation, International Office
  • Quirin Rieder, ViDSS Student in social and cultural anthropology
  • Maryam Khaleghipour, ViDSS Student in communication

Moderation: Roman Pfefferle
