• As we will discuss topics that arise from your teaching practise, participating in the coaching sessions only makes sense if you are actively engaged in teaching.
• The coaching is a supplementary offer that builds on the Basic Qualification. Please make sure you have completed the Basic Qualification before you sign up for the coaching offer. (Please note: If the first meeting of the Coaching overlaps with the Basic Qualification, it is NOT a problem.)

• Reflect on your teaching philosophy and teaching identity
• Give and receive feedback on course planning, assignments, teaching strategies, assessment, etc.
• Provide and receive support and advice for challenging situations in teaching
• Build a network of peers across disciplines interested in teaching

We invite you to spend your first semester of teaching as part of a small group of peers, supported by a CTL teaching counsellor. 

The group members decide what topics they discuss. Usually these are questions, concerns and experiences that arise as you plan and teach your first course. Topics that come up frequently include:

• Getting ready for the first class session
• Coping with nervousness and stage fright
• Choosing and designing teaching and learning methods
• Designing assessment and preparing students for exams

If desired, you will also receive feedback on your syllabus and teaching material.

Coaching in small groups only works if all group members actively participate. You are therefore required (also as a courtesy to your peers) to attend all meetings.
