Target audience
VDS-PhaNuSpo doctoral candidates in their final year will be prioritised. If there are any remaining places, they will be allocated to PhDs, regardless of their PhD stage.Goals
The objective of this workshop is to guide participants through the process from job-seeking to employment, and equipping them with essential communication tools for confident and effective applications.
Content
9 am - 10 am : A Short and Concise Pre- and Q&A-session: guidance for the completion of your study (e.g. cumulative thesis, assignment of reviewers, upload, defence).
10 am - 5 pm (with breaks)
- Making Impactful First Impressions. Refining your presence for a memorable introduction.
- Clarifying your interests and aspirations: What do YOU really want?
- Role Plays - Job Interviews: Delivering compelling messages, handling questions, process and salary negotiations.
- Follow-up: Handling pushback and planning next steps.
Methods
Interactive Classroom : Content will be presented in a mix of lectures, discussions, case studies, role-plays and group work.
Case Studies : All skills will be implemented and practiced with the help of role plays for participants to prepare, discuss, negotiate, debrief and receive feedback on challenging negotiation situations.

Svitlana Kalitsun
Mag. Svitlana Kalitsun is a Senior Trainer and Coach at The Negotiation Academy LLC. She coaches and trains academic staff at WU Vienna, JKU Linz, and the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv, Ukraine. With a background as a lawyer, Svitlana integrates over 10 years of practical experience in the legal profession into her communication within academic environments. She is also recognized as an ISO-certified coach, author, and Forbes contributor.

- Directions:
- Enter the campus via the Spitalgasse 2 entrance (Hof 4). Continue straight ahead until you reach Hof 2. Continue straight ahead until you reach Hof 7. Turn left and take the first door on your left. Walk through the hallway until you can turn right. Take the lift to the first floor. Exit the lift and walk through the door in front of you. Turn left in this hallway. The second door on your left leads to seminar room 6.
- Alternatively, enter the campus via the Alser Straße 4 entrance. You are now in Hof 1. Walk straight ahead through Hof 1 and through the passageway on the right at the far end. The next yard is Hof 7. Take the first left-hand entrance and continue as above.
